Management Trainee
Skilled worker with a thorough knowledge of procedures and processes associated with supply, storage, and distribution functions in a fast paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for the planning, control, and organization of their department. The department manager will manage a team.
Wear personal protection equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures as outlined in the safety manual and OSHA regulations and use of general rail yard safety devices (blue flag signals, wheel checks). Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language. Higher degree in logistics or similar through experience in area assigned (minimum 10 years). Mathematical skills: ability to perform all basic calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Have a high standard for quality. Work environment: indoor and outdoor (extreme weather conditions). Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment. Perform various tasks in assistance or support of the organization including but not limited to general labor. Work other than normal scheduled hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays; according to the needs of the business. Adhere to all work and safety rules. Ensuring all OSHA safety standards are followed and executed. Experienced in managing a team and able to plan and organize the team effectively. Through knowledge of all procedures, instruction, documents of the Quality Manual relevant for the function. Able to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, deal with a variety of variables. Complete administration paperwork relevant to your area (payroll, KPI s, Planning). Control of man hours and overtime. Complete and monitor KPI s for assigned department. Complete and report required department reports on time as required by upper management. Analyze the performance, propose and implement improvements. Determine the training needs of your team. Coordinate and assist in the implantation. Able to motivate and encourage your team to make suggestions, ideas and improvements. Perform audits to check the quality and safety of your team. Participate in company meetings (Management Review, planning, CSR). Must possess the skills to provide quality customer service including the ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations. Ability to perform assigned work tasks with little or no supervision.
