Responsible for the cost, service, quality, safety and associate development factors within the warehouse. Responsible for planning, leading, organizing and controlling daily and weekly work plans in order to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Responsible for pick and put away accuracy, accurate inventory systems and strong productivity management. Develops and leverages the Warehouse Material Handlers in order to handle daily executional requirements. Assists in special projects and coordination of warehouse activities under the direction of the Warehouse Manager. Responsible for maintenance of SOP s in order to train warehouse personnel, both exempt and non-exempt, to ensure a well-coordinated warehouse management and receiving plan. Supports dispatching operation within transportation to achieve on-time arrival, departure, and unloading goals. Maintains timely and accurate communication between production and customer service as needed.
Must have a four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Must have prior supervisory experience and problem solving skills.
Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have basic PC email, spreadsheet and word processing skills
Must have an understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
2 years experience preferred in Distribution/Warehousing.
Must be able to work up to a 12 hour shift in a refrigerated environment 34 f to 45 f. And to work weekends
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Such activities include receiving, warehouse housekeeping, equipment maintenance, inventory control, packaging supply receiving and materials issuing, etc.
Facilitates resources needed to achieve accurate month-end inventories with production and coordinates timely accurate inventory document submission.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding productivity goals, directing the receiving and warehouse staff to maintain accurate inventory in the system and on the floor; verify receiving errors, selection errors, and warehouse slotting of products, etc.
Generates and monitors warehouse productivity reports such as selection rates, loading rates, and receiving rates.
Adheres to budget requirements, works toward obtaining personal development objectives and company strategic goals.
Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
Responsible for supporting safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for associates, maintains company GMP standards, and supports the requirements of all OSHA state and local regulations.
Recommends material handling equipment &/or racking requirements &/or modifications to the Warehouse Manager in order to improve warehouse productivity and efficiency.
Acts as replacement for the transportation and shipping department during vacation periods, or when these individuals are unavailable for staff meetings, etc.
Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings: ensuring that the labor climate is one of high morale and productive.
Insures effective coordination and hand-off during shift changes.
Identifies and implements procedures to improve warehousing operational efficiency.
Works in conjunction with peers and other departments to achieve company goals.
Implement and coordinate systems and procedures and computer hardware/software programs in conjunction with MIS.
May perform other related assignments and or duties from time to time as directed by management.
