Automotive Painter
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Automotive Painter for a company based in Houston, Texas in the Southwest Area. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for painting, prepping modules, doors, and small parts including sanding, buffing, bodywork repair, taping, and masking units prior to the paint application. Must have experience with automotive collision.
Pay Rate
$20.00 -$32.00 an hour.
Schedule and Hours
Monday to Friday 5:00 AM- 1:30 PM (Long hours based on production needs)
Job Title Duties and Responsibilities
- Reads work order or receives instructions from Supervisor/Lead regarding prep work.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by using sandpaper, brushes, steel wool and wiping clean with solvent.
- Fills holes, cracks, scratches, and joints with caulk, body filler, or other filler using a caulking gun or other tools.
- Tapes and covers surfaces with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
- Paint using epoxy primer using a 1.4 SATA RP gun.
- Spray base coat using 1.4 SATA gun.
- Spray clear coat using 1.3 SATA gun.
- Observes and follows safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Choose the correct reducer ratio based on temperature index.
- Possess knowledge of accelerator mixture based on part size/outside temp. etc.
- Buff defects such as sags, runs, solvent pop and debris.
- Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Lead.
Job Title Qualifications and Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Computer skills.
• Math skills test.
• Automotive Collision Experience.
• Culture assessment given.
