CNC Thermwood Machine Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for an experienced CNC Thermwood Machine Operator for a company based in Clanton, AL. The CNC operator uses a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Point to Point and Nesting Router to cut various materials, like metal, plastic, and wood. The CNC Router Operator will be responsible for setting up the routing machine for wood properly before beginning work, reading blueprints as instructions for cutting, and operating the machine safely to produce high-quality precision parts and components.

Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm.
CNC Thermwood Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities
Thermwood Machine Operation:
- Setup & Operation:
- Prepare and operate Thermwood CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, and milling of materials like wood, composites, or plastics.
- Understand job specifications by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and production orders to determine machine setup.
- Programming:
- Translate production instructions into CNC machine programs and commands using the Thermwood control system.
- Adjust and optimize programs as needed to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Material Loading:
- Prepare and load raw materials onto the Thermwood CNC machine, ensuring that they are properly aligned for accurate processing.
- Safely handle materials and ensure they meet production requirements before starting the machine.
- Testing & Adjustments:
- Conduct test runs to ensure the Thermwood machine produces outputs according to job specifications.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings during operations to ensure quality results.
- Monitoring:
- Supervise the machine while it executes tasks to ensure smooth operation, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.
CNC Thermwood Machine Operator Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC operator, preferably with Thermwood machines or similar CNC systems.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation, particularly with Thermwood control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and job orders.
- Mechanical aptitude, with a strong understanding of CNC processes and machine setups.
- Experience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
