CNC Router Operator
Automation Personnel Services is looking for an experienced CNC Router Operator for a company based in Powder Springs, GA. The CNC router operator uses a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Point to Point and Nesting Router to cut various materials, like metal, plastic, and wood. The CNC Router Operator will be responsible for setting up the routing machine for wood properly before beginning work, reading blueprints as instructions for cutting, and operating the machine safely to produce high-quality precision parts and components.
Pay Rate
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour D.O.E
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 3:30 pm.
CNC Router Operator Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform milling, drilling, turning, and other machining operations.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure proper performance and quality output.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the appropriate machining processes and tooling required.
- Inspect finished parts and components for quality and accuracy.
- Rework wood to create the blueprint design.
- Measure and verify all calculations prior to setting up the machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn tooling and machine components.
- Enter all relevant codes to specify the feed, speed, and cut of any toolpath for a CNC.
- Collaborate with other members of the manufacturing team to ensure production goals and deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and quality control.
- Other duties as assigned.
CNC Router Operator Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines (SCM, HOMAG, etc.) in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Familiarity with CNC G-Code preferred.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and programming.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational skills
- In-depth knowledge of wood machinery
- Excellent reporting and analytical skills
- Excellent understanding of mechanics and mathematics
- Ability to interpret 3D drawings and orthographic projection.
