Concrete Finisher

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher for a company based in HoustonTXThis role requires candidates to be available for out-of-town travel for extended periods. Concrete Finishers will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and polished finish of concrete surfaces on our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have expertise in pouring, screening, finishing, and power troweling concrete, with additional experience in using power screeds being highly beneficial.

Pay Rate 
$20 to $22 per hour [depending on experience]

Schedule and Hours 
Monday through Friday, 8 00 am to 5 00 pm. Must be willing to travel out of town.

Job Title Duties and Responsibilities

  • Efficiently pour and spread concrete into forms and other surfaces according to specified designs and project requirements.
  • Use manual and power screeds to level concrete surfaces, ensuring an even distribution and smooth finish.
  • Apply finishing techniques using a variety of hand and power tools, including trowels, floats, and edgers, to achieve the desired surface texture and appearance.
  • Operate power trowels to produce a smooth, polished surface on large concrete areas, ensuring a high-quality finish.
  • Utilize and maintain power screeds and other specialized equipment to enhance efficiency and quality in the finishing process.
  • Create textures and patterns as required by project specifications, using brushes, brooms, and other tools.
  • Apply curing and sealing compounds to protect the concrete surface and enhance its durability.
  • Perform repairs on existing concrete surfaces to fix imperfections, ensuring consistency with the original finish.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Promptly report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate with other construction team members to ensure seamless workflow and project efficiency.
  • Continuously monitor the curing process and quality of the finished surface to prevent defects and ensure long-term durability.
Job Title Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Must be willing to travel out-of-town for long lengths of time.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a concrete finisher in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in pouring, screeding, finishing, and power troweling concrete.
  • Experience with power screeds is a PLUS.
  • Strong understanding of concrete properties and the curing process.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
