Fabricator

 
 Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Fabrication Shop to work locally within Port Allen,LA. This position will perform entry-level fabrication, assembly, alteration, and repair of insulation products and equipment.   

Pay Rate  
$20.00 

Schedule and Hours  
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  

Job Title Duties and Responsibilities 

•  Assist with gathering material required for performance of work. 

• Assist with setup and operation of equipment including but not limited to: plasma cutting tables; power shears; notches; brakes; rollers; lock-formers; cleat benders; punches; pinspotters; insulation cutters; insulation adhesive applicators; saws; hand tools; and drill presses to cut, form, punch, insulate, seal, and assemble sheet metal. 

• Perform quality work with a high degree of attention to detail in order to meet or exceed quality expectations. 

• Accurately follow direction and technical guidance given by mentor workers and supervisors. 

• Ability to understand, communicate, and follow safety requirements as posted and directed by supervisors. 

• Lift and/or maneuver items as required. 

• Participate in team activities to contribute toward continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Job Title Qualifications and Requirements  

•   A minimum of one-year experience working in a warehouse/fabrication environment.  

• Read and comprehend tape measure or measuring device.  

• Knowledge of the use of basic hand tools 

• Willing to submit to a drug screen and background check. 

• Bilingual is preferred, but not required. 

Physical Requirements:  

• Must be capable of lifting a maximum of 50 lbs.  

• Must be capable of handling bulky boxes and materials.  

• Standing for possibly long periods of time is often required.  

• Fine motor skills required in operation and maintenance of Fabrication Equipment.  

• Kneeling or crouching is often required in operation or maintenance of Fabrication Equipment.
