Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Fitter for a company based in Birmingham AL. In this role, we are looking for a Fitter. You will play an important role in ensuring machines operate swiftly in accordance with company guidelines for. Pay Range
$23- 26hourly.
Schedule and Hours
M-F 6-2:30PM
OT 6:00-4:30PM
Fitter Operator Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
- Constructing structural components from raw materials.
- Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.
- Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
- Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
- Creating a suitable maintenance schedule and performing system maintenance accordingly.
- Conducting diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
- Replacing damaged or defective structural components as needed.
- Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
Fitter Qualifications and Requirements
- 1 Year previous experience preferred in fitting in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Must be able to use GMAW welding equipment for tack welds.
- The ability to read, write, add, subtract, multiply, divide and count accurately.
- Repetitive lifting (up to 50Ibs. On occasion), stooping, reaching, pulling, standing, pushing, and grasping are required.
- The ability to stand 90% of a shift and work in noisy, non-climate-controlled conditions.
- The ability to work with small hand tools including tape measures and gauges.
