Gearbox Mechanic
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Gearbox Mechanic for a company based in Houston, Tx. As a Gearbox and Pump Mechanic you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, documenting, assembling, various types of Gearboxes and Pumps.
Pay Rate
$30.00-$37.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm
Gearbox Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
• Disassembles and inspects equipment to determine repair requirements. Includes Slurry pumps, Multi-stage split case pumps, Vertical turbine pumps, Overhung Horizontal pumps, Right angle drive gearboxes, Parallel shaft gearboxes, and Split line gearboxes
• Fills out inspection and other various reports.
• Using various pneumatic tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, drill press and surface grinder required to disassemble and assemble pumps and gearboxes.
• Ensures that required equipment and tools are functioning properly.
• Performs housekeeping tasks as required.
Gearbox Mechanic Qualifications and Requirements
• Able to work overtime and weekends when needed
• Must have own basic hand tools
• Work independently to a set of procedures with stop checks for Supervisor and QC Sign Offs
• Performs routine maintenance on machinery and test equipment.
• Ability to read micrometers and measuring equipment to .0005"
• Drug screen and Background check required
• Steel toe boots are required
