Inside Sales Representative

This position will work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the distribution team to ensure a safe work environment while the team serves existing customers, creates new customers, and meets/exceeds monthly sales quotas at or above the budgeted gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction.
Target Position Responsibilities:
Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns.
Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications.
Cooperate with Account Managers to determine strategic approaches for sales.
Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items.
Obtain accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
Monitor open orders (purchase & sales orders) and shipment dates to ensure timely delivery as well as expedite as needed to achieve service level goals.
Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability.
Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products.
Proactively monitor slow and non-moving inventory.
Communicate with outside sales and purchasing to notify customers of available inventory.
Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
Maintain customer contact to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction and communicate those to Management.
Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
1 year of inside sales experience in related field
Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Software, and other relevant office software and devices
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in a wholesale distribution environment servicing chemical, oil and gas, pulp & paper or general Industry
1 or more years of pipe, valve or fittings experience
Starting pay is $15 hour or dependent on experience
