Lead Diesel Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Diesel Technician to oversee the maintenance and repair of a fleet of concrete transport and pumping trucks. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and warehouse management responsibilities. The Lead Diesel Technician will ensure the smooth operation of all equipment, manage a team of technicians, and oversee the inventory and organization of the warehouse.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Compensation:
- $125,000 annually
- Direct hire position
Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and concrete pumping equipment.
- Lead and manage a team of technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring quality work.
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to guide repairs and train team members.
- Conduct regular inspections to maintain equipment safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance.
- Manage warehouse operations, including inventory control, ordering parts, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies.
- Serve as a liaison between management and the technician team, providing updates on operations and addressing concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a diesel mechanic, including a focus on heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems.
- Proven leadership experience in a workshop or fleet maintenance setting.
- Strong ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and diagrams is required.
- Excellent organizational skills, with experience managing inventory and warehouse operations.
- Effective communication skills to lead a team and report to management.
- High school diploma or GED; advanced technical certifications are highly preferred.
