MIG WELDER/FABRICATOR
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a MIG Welder/Fabricator for a manufacturing facility in Chattanooga, TN. This family owned, union shop has produced sawmill machinery for over 100 years. This is a full-time temporary to hire position with great benefits after 60 working days.
Pay rate
$20.95 per hour
Shift
Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (Overtime is based on 8 hours per day)
MIG Welder/Fabricator Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform various all-position welding and burning operations
• Weld together metal components working form prints, sketches, samples, job card routings, and verbal instructions
• Inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun
• Positions and handles materials and parts by hand or with handling equipment
• Performs all types of blacksmithing such as forming, bending, shaping, and sweating of parts together, either with or without templates or fixtures
• Uses welding jigs and fixtures, where applicable. Tacks and clamps work preparatory to welding. Uses hand tools, templates, squares, rules, gauges, and other measuring equipment
• Responsible for checking own work and maintaining quality standards
• Must furnish own tools
MIG Welder/Fabricator Job Requirements and Qualifications
• Thorough working knowledge of arc and gas welding, burning, and brazing to be able to select proper electrode, voltage, amperage, flux, and polarity
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, sketches, diagrams, and illustrations
• Proficient in use of measuring tools, levels, etc and be able to pass a tape measure test
• Drug Screens and background checks are required
• Must have previous Arc welding certification and/or demonstrate welding and layout ability
