Mechanical Erectors

Automation Personnel Services is seeking experienced and skilled Mechanical Erectors to join our dynamic team. Candidates must be available for out-of-town travel for extended. As a Mechanical Erector, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment on construction sites. Your primary focus will be on mechanical erection activities, including working with millwrights and erecting Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical erection and a keen eye for detail.

Pay Rate 
$22 to $30 per hour [Competitive salary based on experience]

Schedule and Hours 
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be available for out-of-town travel for extended periods.

Job Title Duties and Responsibilities

  • Erect, install, and align mechanical equipment and structures according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Work closely with millwrights to ensure the precise installation and alignment of machinery and equipment.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, installation, and dismantling of SCR units and other related components.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of installed equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to complete erection tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate installation and assembly.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to achieve project goals.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues as they arise during the erection process.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily reports and progress updates.
Job Title Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Must be willing to travel out-of-town for extended periods.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Erector, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical erection, including working with millwrights.
  • Experience erecting SCR units is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools required for mechanical erection tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Valid certifications and licenses related to mechanical erection are a plus.
