Schedule and Hours
- 1st Shift 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- 2nd Shift 2:15 pm to 10:45 pm
- 3rd Shift 10:30 pm to 7:00 am
Mill CNC Programmer Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for both milling and lathe machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up CNC machines, including tool selection, fixture setup, chucking, and calibration.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct test runs and inspections to ensure precision, accuracy, and adherence to tolerance.
- Adjust machine settings, cutting speeds, feeds, and tooling to improve efficiency and product quality.
- Monitor machining operations, identify defects, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations and machining best practices.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to minimize downtime.
Mill CNC Programmer Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming, particularly with milling operations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. Strong understanding of shop mathematics and geometric tolerancing.
- Ability to identify issues during the machining process and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Meticulous focus on precision and quality in all aspects of work.
- A high school diploma or GED is required; additional technical training or certifications in CNC programming are preferred.
- Capability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances, if applicable.
