Job Description
Outside Sales Representative
Automation Personnel Services is looking for an Outside Sales Representative candidate for a company based in North Houston, TX. In this role, your responsibilities will include cultivating your sales territory through the nurturing of existing client connections and the acquisition of new ones to boost business growth.
Pay Rate
$145,000 - $150,000 per year plus sales commission
(Based on Experience)
Schedule and Hours
Monday – Friday
8am-5pm
Duties and Responsibilities
• Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities within industrial, commercial, and utility sectors.
• Develop strategic plans for expanding the company's market presence and driving revenue growth.
• Network with industry professionals, attend trade shows, and establish connections with key decision-makers.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, providing personalized solutions that meet each customer's specific needs.
• Conduct follow-ups to ensure seamless order fulfillment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
• Understand and assess customer needs to recommend the best transformer products and services.
• Provide expert guidance on product specifications, features, and advantages over competitors.
• Utilize technical knowledge to demonstrate the value of custom-built transformer solutions for clients.
• Stay up to date with advancements in electrical power distribution, transformer technology, and regulations.
• Educate clients on the latest innovations, compliance standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with customer expectations.
• Monitor trends, customer demands, and competitive landscape to refine sales strategies.
• Analyze regional sales performance and identify areas for growth and improvement.
• Provide feedback to marketing and product development teams for targeted promotional efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and deal progress.
• Prepare detailed reports on sales metrics, revenue projections, and client feedback.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Education – A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience – Prior sales experience, especially in electrical or industrial equipment, is highly valued.
• Technical Knowledge – Understanding of transformer products, electrical systems, and industry regulations.
• Communication Skills – Strong ability to engage with clients, negotiate deals, and present solutions effectively.
• Self-Motivation – Ability to work independently, manage sales pipelines, and meet revenue targets.
• Travel Availability – Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings and industry events.
