Production Supervisor, Large Format
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Production Supervisor, Large Format for a visual merchandise company based in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this role, you will lead and manage the Bindery production area, focusing on supervising, mentoring, and coaching employees. Working with the Production Lead, this role trains staff on efficient methods for machine setup, inventory organization, and the process flow for tasks like sorting, cutting, and binding printed materials. This role oversees the Production Leads in learning new equipment for training purposes and handles performance reviews, staff development, employee engagement, scheduling, and disciplinary actions.
Salary
$60,000-70,000 annually.
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to 3:15 pm.
Production Supervisor, Large Format Duties and Responsibilities
• Motivate, mentor, and coach employees, fostering professional development, engagement, and a safe, inclusive environment.
• Set high-performance expectations, provide feedback, and ensure quality standards are met through continuous monitoring and improvement.
• Collaborate with Production Leads to prioritize workflow, maintain supply levels, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Oversee training compliance, ensure proper skill development, and manage the acquisition and integration of new equipment.
• Drive efficiency, productivity, and cost reductions, including improvements in material flow and departmental processes.
• Communicate corporate policies, support safety initiatives, and step in as needed to ensure smooth production operations.
Production Manager: Large Format Qualifications & Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-5 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in production leadership within the printing industry.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in large format support.
• OSHA 10 Hour certification is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and computer skills.
• Accountability and ownership of work commitments.
• Collaborative team player, skilled in creating efficient workflows.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Physical Requirements:
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient or willing to learn Gmail, Google Docs, Excel, TBG Systems, and other software/hardware.
• Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, check color quality, read a ruler to 1/16th of an inch, and move around the plant frequently.
