Laser Operator
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled Laser Operator located in Huntsville, AL. In this role you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of laser cutting machines use to shape and cut various types of sheet metal.
Pay Rate
$14.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience
Schedules and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
Laser Operator Duties and Responsibilities
• Preparing sheet metal materials for cutting, including loading and unloading metal sheets onto the cutting machine and securing them in place to ensure accurate cutting.
• Inspecting finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall quality.
• Adjusting machines settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
• Trouble shooting machine issues and making repairs as necessary to minimize downtime.
• Maintaining accurate records of production activities, including materials used, machines settings, and production output.
• Always adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Laser Operator Qualifications and Requirements
• Previous experience operating laser cutting machines or CNC equipment in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Ability to lift 50lbs regularly throughout shift.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Competency in basic shop math and computer proficiency.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies.
