Shipping Specialist
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Shipping Specialist for a leading manufacturer of industrial radiography equipment and gamma-sealed source provider, located in St. Rose. Pay Rate
$18 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday
7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Shipping Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
- Document Shipping/Receiving of radioactive and non-radioactive material as per work instructions
- Ship/Receive radioactive and non-radioactive material as per work instructions
- Understand inventory control and properly document incoming and outgoing stock
- Prepare professional air rate quotes and proposals
- Process domestic and international shipments
- Coordinate with our contracted vendors in procuring space and services
- Receive and update shipment status in a timely manner, issue shipment alert, and file US Customs documents
- Prepare master bills of lading, commercial docs, and letters of credit and licenses
- Process documents timely and accurately
- Ensure compliance with all government regulations and internal procedures and adhere to policies
Shipping Specialist Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer user skills to access and retrieve information necessary for job function. Ability to perform necessary shop math.
- Ability to secure and maintain NRC clearance and meet requirements of drug free workplace policy.
- Ability to obtain certifications such as forklift training, hazardous training, shipping specialist training, driver training
- Requires ability to operate in existing or future working conditions that include but is not limited to: The ability to pick up heavy objects, exposed to: noise, heat, smoke, dust, chemicals, radiation, stand for long periods, climb stairs, ladders. Requires the vision ability to read drawings, documents, tool placards, machine controls with prescribed eye wear if necessary.

- Detail oriented with ability to focus in disciplined manner on task with accuracy and repeatability.
