STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Staff Accountant for an automotive carpet manufacturer in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for providing support to the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department. You will also provide management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts as well as performing the duties required for the proper recording and operation of the company’s accounts receivable function.
Pay Rate
$40-60,000 per year depending on experience.
Schedule and Hours
Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM.
Staff Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
• Posts customer payments, ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly, facilitate swift payment of invoices, and verify discrepancies to resolve clients’ billing issues.
• Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and promptly posted.
• Prepare invoices and bank deposits, calculate/issue financial and operating metrics, and assist with cost accounting assignments and inventory.
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
• Assist with month end closings and inventory counts.
Staff Accountant Qualifications and Requirements
• BS degree in finance, accounting, or business administration, CPA preferred but not required.
• Experience working with accounting ERP systems (SAP a plus) as well as advanced experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Drug screen and background check are required.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, excellent analytical and organizational skills, proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records, and has hands on experience operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
