Steel Fixers
Automation Personnel Services is seeking experienced and skilled Steel Fixers to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel reinforcement, the ability to read and interpret steel drawings, and proficiency in laying and tying steel reinforcement. The Steel Fixer will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity of our construction projects.
Pay Rate
$22 to $25 per hour [Competitive salary based on experience]
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Must be available for out-of-town travel for extended periods.
Job Title Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately read and interpret steel reinforcement drawings to understand the requirements and specifications for each project.
- Lay out and position the steel bars and mesh in accordance with the design specifications and construction drawings.
- Secure steel bars and mesh using wire ties, clips, or other methods to ensure they remain in place during the concrete pour.
- Measure and cut steel bars and mesh to required lengths using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Inspect work to ensure it meets project specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with other team members, including engineers, site supervisors, and other tradespeople, to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
- Identify and resolve any issues related to the steel reinforcement layout and tying.
Job Title Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be willing to travel out-of-town for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Steel Fixer in the construction industry.
- Ability to read and interpret steel reinforcement drawings.
- Proficiency in laying and tying steel reinforcement.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
