COST ACCOUNTANT
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Cost Accountant for an automotive carpet manufacturer in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for analyzing actual costs versus standard costs and preparing reports of variances.
Pay Rate
$50-75,000 per year depending on experience.
Schedule and Hours
Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM.
Cost Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
• Determine cost weights from product specifications, prepare special analyses and estimates of product costs, and establish and maintain standard cost accounts.
• Classify various costs and charges to compute unit costs.
• Have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and coordinate with IT department for system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, import/export accounts payable, accounts receivable, receiving, and shipping.
• Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count and physical inventories.
• Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls, and assist in month end closing, preparing journal entries, and analyze inventory evaluation.
Cost Accountant Qualifications and Requirements
• BS degree in accounting, 2 or more years cost accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience working with accounting ERP systems (SAP a plus) as well as advanced experience with Microsoft Excel as well as Microsoft Dynamics SL. Extensive IT and ERP knowledge is also required.
• Drug screen and background check are required.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED, excellent analytical and organizational skills, proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records, and has hands on experience operating spreadsheets and accounting software.
