DIESEL MECHANIC
Automation Personnel Services is seeking a skilled and experienced DIESEL MECHANIC for a reputable logging supply company in St. Rose. This growing company has expanded to a fleet of heavy-duty commercial trucks and trailers. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines, trucks, and other heavy equipment used in our operations, we invite you to apply.
Pay Rate
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour - Entry Level
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour - Experienced
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday
7:30am – 5:30pm
Diesel Mechanic Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems in trucks and heavy equipment.
- Conduct inspections to assess the condition of diesel engines and mechanical components.
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure efficient operations.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a heavy equipment or trucking environment.
- Technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and drawings.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics is a plus.
