Shift: Monday- Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Pay Rate: $14 -$15 per hour, depending on experience
The Import Brokerage Coordinator assists the Trade Compliance Manager with documentation, data entry, container management, and recordkeeping activities for the imports department.
Supports the Imports department with managing import/export activities for distribution centers.
Coordinates, processes, and ensures the compliance of imports documentation and records.
Tracks shipments and arrivals and coordinates carrier payments.
Ensures commercial documents are Customs compliant.
Creates new shipment files.
Coordinates and processes import documentation.
Completes requests for original documents if needed.
Transmits Automated Customs Environment (ACE) entries to Customs.
Transmits Remote Location Filing (RLF) commercial invoice to Customs.
Validates all entries using the Entry Summary document (CF7501).
Expedites Contraband Enforcement Team (CET) holds and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) inspections.
Issues delivery orders to carriers in a timely manner to avoid demurrage charges.
Processes Automated Clearing House (ACH) daily statement payments.
Conducts internet tracking of shipments & arrival dates.
Requests notice of arrivals from ship lines.
Prepares requests for ocean freight payment based on Star Pipe Products contracts.
Submits original bill of ladings and freight monies to carriers.
Maintains communications with steamship lines & trucking firms.
Coordinates the Container Yard (CY) container schedule for Houston shipments.
Coordinates door move delivery instruction letters for Regional Distribution Center (RDC) shipments.
Other duties as assigned.
2-3 years minimum brokerage or equivalent experience required.
Operational experience in international trade and customs regulatory compliance
College Degree preferred
Strong understanding of 19 CFR and HTSUS; Hands-on knowledge of drawback procedures
The ability to sit for extended periods of time
The ability to work in an office/cubicle setting
