Job Description
Certified Brake Technician
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a Certified Brake Technician for a reputable tire and service center located in Columbia, Tennessee. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring customer vehicles are serviced with precision, safety, and care, while joining a trusted, fast-growing automotive service provider that values expertise, teamwork, and career development.
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Schedule and Hours: Schedule to be determined (typical full-time hours; may include weekends based on shop needs).
Certified Brake Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair brake systems, including rotors, pads, calipers, and hydraulic components.
- Conduct test drives to ensure quality of repairs and compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with routine vehicle maintenance such as tire rotations, balancing, and alignments when needed.
- Communicate clearly with customers and service advisors about recommended repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all company and OSHA safety standards.
- Keep accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Brake System Certification (ASE or equivalent from a recognized automotive training institution).
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in automotive brake repair and diagnostics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment and standard automotive tools safely and effectively.
- Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced shop environment.
