Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Certified Pipefitter for Geismar, LA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to step into a role that involves the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of pipe systems in industrial settings like chemical plants and refineries

Pay Rate
$15.00 to $20 per hour
$15.00 to $20 per hour
Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. (Fabrication Shop)
Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. (Fabrication Shop)
Monday through Sunday, 12 to 16 Hour Days (Off Sight Work Hours)
Certified Pipefitter Duties and Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, isometric (ISO) drawings, and fitting specifications to determine the scope of work, including material locations, quantities, and sizes
- Measure, cut and install a variety of pipes and fittings using tools like saws, cutters, and threading machines - Work may involve threaded, welded, or socket weld pipe, including stainless steel and carbon steel
- Install components such as valves, flanges, gauges, hangers, and supports
- Perform tests to ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping system
- Work safely in all parts of a construction or maintenance site, including in and around structures, tanks, and boilers, and at heights
Certified Pipefitter Qualifications and Requirements
- Must have TWIC, OSHA certification, SS Card and Valid Driver License
- Must be a Certified in Pipefitting
- Ability to use a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents like blueprints
- Must work in confined spaces and at heights
- Must be familiar with basic rigging and hoisting techniques.
