Job Description

The Plant Manager will oversee manufacturing and overall operations of the Tennessee facility, including Supply Chain. He or she will be responsible for all aspects of plant performance and will ensure that metrics are attained in safety, quality, service and productivity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the Tennessee plant throughout all manufacturing operations down to the lowest levels of the organization.
  • Develop a culture of lean throughout the entire organization where all employees are engaged in problem solving
  • Build a continuous improvement system throughout the Tennessee facility
  • Identify and implement formal and informal continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously reshape department best practices.
  • Create a tactical plan which complies with and enhances the company-wide strategic plan and business plan.
  • Maintain strong relationships with any third-parties including customers and suppliers, internal and external.
  • Identify patterns and problem areas, and implement effective solutions to increase efficiency
  • Manage people and processes to ensure performance of all personnel, rewarding and taking corrective measures as appropriate.
  • Set & Manage Key Performance Indicators such as safety goals, quality targets and customer delivery performance.
  • Ensure State & Federal compliance in all areas
  • Drive and support change consistently throughout all processes

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of lean and proficient in 6-sigma tools.
  • 5+ years, progressive operations leadership.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proven results-orientation, financial and analytical skills.
  • Skilled in developing effective working relationships with employees and peers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing factory leadership and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, word, and outlook.
