Quality Lab Technician

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for testing materials, processes and finished product as instructed or listed in the work instructions to the specifications of each and all customers.
High School Diploma or GED
Passing work keys: Applied Math (score 4 or higher), Workplace Documents (score 3 or higher), Graphic Literacy (score 3 or higher)
Experience (required and preferred):
1 year or more manufacturing experience
Quality Lab experience desired
Skills (required and preferred):
Train on 1st shift and actual work shift is 3rd shift from 12am-8am Monday-Friday
Ability to work independently and/or in team setting as needed.
Ability to use testing tools and equipment as needed.
Basic computer skills including MS Office tools
Ability to prioritize tasks to meet daily goals and insure product quality.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: Vision, hearing, and speech are required. Manual dexterity is necessary. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.
Perform quality control tests in the lab as well as the department or other areas of the manufacturing facility as necessary.
Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
Perform quality control test to meet customer and process requirements for product ID, product characteristics, final testing, and nonconforming product.
Provide Operational control for identified environmental aspects of products
Test and record all test data on dip batches and samples of dipped fabric and report findings to production operators for process adjustments or notify of nonconformance.
Testing, reporting and storage of all Adhesion Test Compounds
Prepare samples prior to shipping to customers
Follow all company policies and procedures and ISO 9000 regulations to ensure integrity of product.
Analyze retrieved data and prepare reposts for Management / customers.
Recognize and report any safety concerns, Product deficiencies or non-conformities.
Handling all chemicals using proper PPE and safety procedures, including awareness of pinch points, avoiding contact with hot equipment, using sharp tools, using precautions with Hazardous chemicals.
Cleaning and containing of Hazard Chemicals
Assists with ISO 9000 audits as needed.
Performs other department functions as needed
Performs other duties as required and/or instructed by Area Manager.
